Yes, I want to be independent and to live by my own, but it's impossible. Could you believe it? Yes it's IMPOSSIBLE!!!, despite my age (nearby thirty years old).
This is my own experience, and also the same for lots of my friends about my age. There's a moment in the life of each person in which you want to try your own way and to do your life out of you family home. In that moment you start to consider different options to achieve that item. Normally you have two ways:
- Renting a flat. Laws and regulations in our country doesn't give many facilities to young people to rent a flat. Also here, in Spain, there is not a huge culture for people in general in renting . That's the reason why this option results very expensive, resulting on having to pay almost the same amount as if you have a mortgage. As a result you couldn't enjoy the adventatges of renting a flat and not having its property.
- Buying a flat. It is said that we are the 'thousand euros' generation, which means that, in general terms, Spanish young people earn around 1000 €/ month, so when you try to buy a house and you go to the bank for demanding a mortgage the bank employees almost laugh. What could we do so?.
Some people have to carry a mortgage for thirty or forty years, having to pay every month a letter with almost all the salary and doing juggling to reach the end of the month and avoying for doing extra things. In that way, people are tied for the bank, resulting in many cases in stress, tension and also depression.
There's another possibility which is to look for a house far away for the city center and possibily for your family and work (because it is possible that the prizes were lower, but not sure). The other hand is that you have to change your work or carry with the costs of transport.
Nothing to do if you are a single person and you don't have a couple. In this case buying a house is totally IMPOSSIBLE. And I'm not tlaking about people with low salaries. I'm talking about the majority of young people, young people in general ( between 20 and 30 years old) willing to be independent and could'nt afford it.
And what are doing our politicians? Nothing. They talk, fight... but they don't give us any solutions.
Things have to change.
