Happy Christmas?

Another year Christmas times are approaching and it's not difficult no notice that because advertisements about toys, perfumes, chocolates and all kind of things connected with these days are bombarding us all day on TV, radio and mass media in general. So that, we can think it could be better to recall these days as consumer days.

The message received is that these are days for eating, partying, buying and staying with family and show how much we love each other.

During that days every people increases its waste more than inany days during the year (doing huge efforces in many cases).
You have to eat with family, work companions, partying with friends and eating and drinking another time.
But years are passing us by and things have being changing. Nowadays it is very usual to celebrate New Year's Eve in a luxury restaurant, and pay a lot of money for it. This is very different from the stories my mother used to explain to me about her childhood and how they used to celebrate Christmas. They used to join all the family and sometimes they only have one dish for eating but they were happy and they sang and danced a lot all together.
And what about children vision about Christmas? Last week I was surprised seeing the Three Wise Men letter from my five years old cousin because he has demanded lots of presents, and which is worse, he has already the majority of them (in another version but the same). So, wen he receives his Christmas presents he doesn't pay attention on them. He only wants to have as much as possible and I think thid¡s is the general behaviour on children nowadays. At last, they have so much presents that they are incapable to decide which one to play first.
On the other hand, we observe the dark side, millions of children all around the world without any Christmas present and which is worse without anything to eat.
For all of these reasons, it is important to concerne our next generations about the problems all around the world and how lucky they are for having a home, a family and an education. They must value small things and not seeing that days only as days of wasting and partying. All days of the year are important, but if we have to send a message please send the original message: love, peace and solidarity.

Hi Picadilly. Yeah, I agree with you. We live in a consumption society and it seems you have to be happy only during these days and be friendly and an excellent person. Kids also have too much presents and most of the times they don´t pay attention to them and they don´t value them. You say we must concerne our next generations about the problems all around the world and I would add that we must do something else than only concerne our next generations. If all us only would give 10% of the wasted money during Chrismas on orphanages’ help, clothes for poor children, humanitarian help, ONG’s, etc…probably the world for poor people would be just a little more beautiful.

NICE PIECE OF WRITING BUT CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING MISTAKES.

-During that days every people increases
-more than inany days during the year (doing huge efforces in many cases
-only have one dish for eating but they were happy
-my five years old cousin
-because he has demanded lots of presents
-So, wen he receives
-he doesn't pay attention on them
-I think thid¡s is the general behaviour on children nowadays
-have so much presents
-it is important to concerne our next generations about the problems

You should say:
-During THESE days people INCREASE
-more than in any days during the year (doing huge EFFORTS in many cases
-only HAD one dish for DINNER but they were happy
-because he has ASKED FOR A LOT of presents
-my five YEAR (HERE'S AN ADJECTIVE!) old cousin
-So, WHEN he receives
-he doesn't pay attention TO them
-I think THIS is the general behaviour OF children nowadays
OR I think THIS is the general children'S behaviour nowadays
-have so MANY presents
-it is important to MAKE our next generations AWARE OF the problems
